CAGAYAN DE ORO – In the final leg of his visit in this city on March 23, 2011, President Benigno Aquino witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Philippines and Italy represented by DAR Secretary Virgilio de los Reyes and Ambassador Luca Fornari, respectively.

The MOU pertains to the Italian Assistance to Agrarian Reform Community Development Support Project (IARCDSP) that aims to contribute to the improvement of the living condition of rural families in selected provinces of Mindanao.  In Region 10, the project will cover the provinces of Bukidnon, Misamis Occidental and Misamis Oriental.

CAGAYAN DE ORO – Bukidnon Gov. Alex Calingasan together with DAR-10 Regional Director Felix Aguhob and PAROs Julio Celestiano, Jr. and Norberto Paquingan, handed out 926 Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) covering 3,228 hectares with 2,321 beneficiaries  during the culminating program of the Kaamulan Festival 2011 on March 10 in Malaybalay City.  The culmination also celebrates the 94^th Foundation Day of Bukidnon.

       The CLOA distribution is one of the highlights of  the  Kaamulan,  Bukidnon’s annual festival   that attracts  hordes of visitors to this agriculturally-endowed province with rich cultural heritage.

CAGAYAN DE ORO – DAR Undersecretary for Support Services Jerry Pacturan maintains that while land distribution is an important mandate, it is not by itself the end of the government’s agrarian reform program.

                 The Department of Agrarian Reform Regional Office X through the DAR Ladies Association (DARLA) has expanded its community involvement with a feeding program for the children in Macanhan, Carmen. The  feeding program was held on December 29, 2010 at the DAR Regional Office compound in Macanhan, Carmen. 

                One hundred (100) children with ages  5-10  from urban poor and indigent families in Macanhan including 8 children under the custody of DSWD Regional Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC) were treated to an assortment of fun games and prizes as well as packs of Jollibee foods.
